Chawathil First Nation has an Economic Development Corporation that operates at arm's length from Chief and Council through a Board of Directors.
Economic Development at Chawathil works with companies and developers to build Chawathil-owned businesses and build own-source revenues.
There are 5 Board of Directors who engage in discussions on various business developments for Chawathil.
These can include Joint Ventures, Limited Partnership, Limited Liability Partnerships and building Chawathil-owned businesses.
The Board relies on the Comprehensive Community Plan, Land Code, Land Use Plan, and is developing an Economic Development plan as well as other Chawathil polices to guide their decisions.
