EMERGENCY SERVICES

Chawathil First Nation has developed plans to protect our community during emergencies. In partnership with local first responders, health organizations, social services, utilities, and volunteers.

The Emergency Management Team continually improves our preparedness. They work with leadership on testing, training, and updates to ensure our plans are ready for any emergency.

Seasonally, Chawathil organizes presentations by BC Wildfire aimed at educating the community on fire safety measures and safeguarding homes during fire seasons.

Honoring First Responders

Chawathil's Resilience

During one of British Columbia’s most challenging wildfire seasons, we pay tribute to those who protected our land and communities. On July 20, 2023, a ceremony honored Devyn Gale, a BC Wildfire Service crew member whose life was lost battling a wildfire.

As wildfires grow more severe, Chawathil remains committed to protecting our land and supporting those who safeguard our future.
