Working Together - As One
Project: Roads and Drainage Improvements Feasibility Study
What is this Project?
The Roads and Drainage Improvements Feasibility Study will investigate different options for short-term flood mitigation, stormwater management, and road surface improvements at IR4.
Within IR4, there are numerous gravel and paved roads which are in poor condition (i.e., potholes, pooling, cracks) and require upgrades to ensure reasonable access, both during emergencies and day-to-day use. The scope of the project includes a site reconnaissance of IR4 to identify areas of concern, including meeting with Chawathil members to understand drainage issues on individual lots. Improvement options for the roads and drainage issues will be identified based on established design criteria, and an analysis will be completed to evaluate each improvement option.
How Will the Community Be Engaged?
The community will be engaged in a number of ways:
- A site reconnaissance and engagement meeting will be held with property owners who experience frequent flooding during high rainfall events in order to identify the problem areas and work with the community member to find an improvement solution.
- Urban Systems will attend one community open house meeting to provide project information and collect feedback from IR4 community members.
What is the Project’s Expected Timeline?
May 2026 – November 2026
