Working Together - As One
Chawathil is committed to preserving significant buildings and structures that reflect our rich history and the growth of our community. The church has long served as a central gathering space for multiple generations, was built by the community’s ancestors, and we are pleased to announce that funding has been secured for a new roof. We will continue to seek additional funding to renovate the interior and exterior to ensure it continues to serve future generations.
Purpose of the Church Renovation:
This project is being undertaken for several key reasons:
- Historical Preservation: We are committed to maintaining and honouring Chawathil’s cultural heritage by preserving this important structure.
- Health & Safety Compliance: The current structure and roof do not meet current health and safety standards. These renovations will address those concerns to create a safer environment.
- Community Pride & Infrastructure: Our goal is to enhance community spaces so that all members can take pride in our shared facilities, these upgrades will ensure the church remains a vital community hub.
Timeline: Spring 2025
By revitalizing the church and renovating the roof, we are investing in a space that will benefit the community for years to come. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing this important project come to life. The renovations will happen Spring 2025.
